Clean Install, HD Format----- Start up your computer with a windows 98 startup disk and select start with CD Rom Support. At the prompt type format C:\ it will then begin deleting all info. When it is done and you have another partition you can format that also. just type format D:\ and so on. When you completly finished formating load your Windows ME disk. You'll then need to access your CD rom drive. DOS usually moves the cd drive up one letter so if your cd rom drive is E:\ when your in windows it will most likely be located at F:\ in DOS. So you would type F:\ and hit enter. You should now be at a F:\ prompt type setup.exe and windows will begin installing. I recommend a clean install of windows ME rather than upgrading from 98. I even recommend it if you baught a new pc with ME pre installed. If you can get your hands on a ME full version disk (not the upgrade version)I would definitely do a clean install. It's worth it!
